Whittington Health NHS Trust have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Accountant role. If you are a highly motivated individual who wishes to begin a career in finance then this could be the opportunity for you.

This offer includes the fantastic opportunity to gain the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Advanced Diploma in Accounting (level 3) qualification, or CIMA or ACCA. With allocated study time at an approved college and the support of a study mentor in the Finance Team to support you in developing a career within finance.

You will be part of the Financial Management team working closely with the Income and Financial accounts team, providing support and learning the functions of the Finance Department.

The role is an integral part of the Finance Department structure and comes with its own tasks and responsibilities.

These include supporting the generation of management accounting reports, the raising of invoices, monitoring of payments to suppliers, assisting in preparation of external reporting and supporting work on annual budget setting processes and forecasts. You should have a good solid education, be numerate, have good IT and keyboard skills (including MS Excel), show initiative, have the ability to work to tight schedules and a genuine keen interest to excel in finance. There will be additional ad hoc tasks a times supporting areas outside management accounts but within finance.
